The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce

The Wheat Festival began in 1900 as the Sumner County Jubilee and Wheat Carnival to celebrate a record breaking wheat crop that year. It has continued to be a tradition in Wellington for the past 112 years! Now adopted as the State’s official post-harvest celebration, the Kansas Wheat Festival is the highlight of Wellington’s Summer activities.
The Kansas Wheat Festival will be bigger and better than ever and more focused on agriculture and the Kansas Wheat Farmer than ever before.
Beginning on Wednesday, July 11th, there will be five days of fun.
Ottaway Carnival runs Wednesday through Saturday evenings.
Buttons are still only $2 each and Button Drawings will be held each evening for great prizes!
Come join the fun and help us celebrate this 112 year old tradition!
Check out Wellington's Housing Incentives
The City of Wellington offers housing incentives to the first 50 qualified applicants, who move to & live in Wellington for one year; and who are purchasing an existing home, building a new home, or renting an apartment or home within the City limits.
The Wellington Area Chamber/CVB is a working partnership of leading business and professional men and women with interests in building a greater community. While it represents business and the professions, it is essentially an organization of people - people who know the wisdom of coordinating their efforts under effective leadership for the civic, industrial and commercial advancement of the city.
Members of the Chamber/CVB know that they do not make contributions to the Chamber/CVB, but that membership dues are part of the fixed overhead of each business. In a sense, the Chamber/CVB is a department of each business doing work which the individual or enterprise cannot do alone. A business does not donate to that “department” any more than it donates to its sales, shipping or production departments!
The Chamber of Commerce/CVB is a non-profit organization. All funds received from members are expended to carry forward a broad program of business development. The Chamber/CVB serves as the clearing house for all activity which will develop a better business climate and a better community for each business concern and its employees.
Cities are what men and women make them. The Chamber/CVB in Wellington is the vehicle through which action programs will be generated to make this city great!
